FAQs

Q

How long does it take for you to review my affiliate application?

A

Affiliate applications are reviewed within three working days. If you are accepted onto the programme, you can start referring customers immediately by listing our banners or text links on your site.

Q

How does Betfair know that someone has registered via my site?

A

Your affiliate account has a unique Affiliate ID, which is used to identify when you have referred a customer to us. When a player clicks through to Betfair via one of your links, a cookie is dropped on their browser. This cookie contains your Affiliate ID. When that player registers for an account with Betfair, you will be credited with the referral.

Q

How long is the cookie duration?

A

The cookie duration is 45 days. This means that a referred player could navigate away from Betfair and providing that they return within 45 days, they will still be credited to your Affiliate Account.

Q

I don't have a website, can I still be an affiliate?

A

We will review each case on an individual basis. Please contact us at affiliates@betfair.com with details of how you intend to refer players and what your target market is.

Q

Can I register more than one website?

A

Yes, when logged into your affiliate account you can add multiple websites by adding a new Marketing Source in the My Account section. You will receive individual tracking links for each site so you can track their performance.

Q

Does Betfair accept all websites?

A

We review each application individually and evaluate whether or not we deem its nature or content suitable to represent the Betfair brand.

Q

What payment methods do the Betfair affiliate programme support?

A

Affiliates can be paid by Bank Wire Transfer, Skrill (Moneybookers), Neteller and Entropay.

Q

Is there a minimum amount before I get paid?

A

You will need to generate a minimum of £50 in commission before we process your affiliate payment. Balances under £50 will be accrued until the threshold has been met. This minimum threshold can be increased at your request.

Q

What currencies can affiliates receive payments in?

A

All affiliate commission payments are processed in GBP.

Q

Do I need to tell Betfair that I am tax registered?

A

If your business is tax registered you must state this on your application form when applying to become an affiliate.

Q

When will I be paid?

A

Affiliates will be paid within 30 days of the end of the calendar month or 30 days from when the invoice is received. Please allow an additional 30 days for your first payment whilst we set you up on our internal finance system.

Q

Do I need to send an invoice to Betfair?

A

If you are tax registered you will need to submit an invoice to receive payment. You will receive a statement with details of how to submit your invoice at the start of each month. If you are not tax registered you do not need to do anything and you will be processed your payment automatically.

Q

You must not alter or create your own banners without the permission of Betfair. All sites displaying Betfair links or content must be registered within the Affiliate Programme website.

Q

What happens in case of negative revenues as per Casino activity?

A

Negative revenue occurs on profit and loss products like Fixed Odds, Casino or Games. When a player wins money on one of these products they generate negative revenue. Betfair does not carry over this negative balance and resets it to zero at the beginning of the following month. The account will start fresh and affiliates can profit from their promotional efforts, disregarding any previous negative balance.

A

Yes you do. However, commission is only calculated for customers who have registered on or after the date that the new product has been launched on the affiliate programme.
